about us.

our original character, “maeberry”, pays tribute to the two co-founder’s Chinese heritage. the word “mae” comes from the Chinese character “美” (pronounced mei), which translates to “beauty”. while, “berry” is because of the berry flavoured ice cream on her head, adding a touch of sweetness to her persona.

the character’s design draws inspiration from the iconic japanee maneki-neko cat. known as "招财猫" (zhao cai mao) in chinese, the cat invites wealth and good fortune to its owner. maeberry hopes to capture and share the essence of the maneki-neko cat's positive energy and prosperity, with those most vulnerable within our communities.

    FOUNDER

hi everyone! my name is brigitte wong and i am a sixteen year old student at sir winston chruchill secondary. outside of school, you'll usually find me buried in a book, catching up on some much-needed sleep or binge watching brookyln 99 for the 100th time. There is also nothing i like more than fluffy cats and matcha lattes.

but beyond your typical teenage shenanigans, i'm also an aspiring business student. my passion begun with a instagram account i made when i was thirteen, where i sold my old clothes and various unwanted items in my house. now fast foward a few years and i’m the founder of maeberry foundation!

  • aaricia wu (she/her)

    CO-FOUNDER

hey there! i’m aaricia (ah-ree-see-ah), currently a junior at richmond christian school. beyond school, i play many roles- one of them being the co-founder and creative director for the maeberry foundation. art has been my passion for over a decade, and i love immersing myself in the world of creativity and finding new ways to innovate and revolutionize art. when i’m not busy with that, i’m on a culinary adventure, exploring new places to eat around Vancouver.

i've got some pretty niche interests that keep me intrigued, and here's a fun fact about me – i daydream a lot. odds are, while you're chatting with me, i'm probably thinking of the next award-winning idea.
